Stop blaming hormones.

I hear so often once I hit peri/menopause or I hit 40 I just gained weight. While hormones may present challenges it's not down hill from here unless we allow it.
Number one, get your bloodwork done. Ask for a full hormone panel.
We can't blindly blame hormones if we first don't look at the daily habits that may be exacerbating unwanted symptoms. Ask yourself a few questions:
Am I eating consistently and choosing mostly nutrient dense foods?
Am I getting adequate sleep?
How's my water intake?
Am I drinking alcohol often?
How are my stress levels?
Am I moving my body?
Most of the time I see people inconsistent in most of the things above and consuming alcohol regularly. Before we blame or dare I say use hormones as an excuse when it comes to extra lbs, prioritize some of the basics and you might find you have more impact than you think.
