Smart watch; Should you use one?

It seems like a lot of us these days are utilizing smart watches or other wearable technology that helps us navigate our fitness journey. Keep in mind that while technology is continuously advancing, these devices are NOT 100% accurate. They will show you a relative individual trend however. Mistakes I see people make with these devices are:


  • Not wearing them consistently or long enough to develop that base of information.

  • Taking the information too literally.

  • Relying on the calories "burned" or utilized in their nutrition choices.

  • Not adjusting goals within in the apps that track information to their specific lifestyle.


Used as a tool these are super handy and may even help keep us on track but just as with anything take in the information coupled with other biofeedback to give you a more accurate account of what is going on in your body.
