Cardio before or after strength training???

If your goal is to build muscle, get stronger or "tone up", strength training should be performed when you are at your highest energy level. That would be at the beginning of your workout. So short answer is cardio after.

However, if your intention is overall physical fitness and you might not necessarily have the above goals then do what works best for your schedule permits You can also separate sessions by am vs pm or perform on different days. It's better to do it than not at all, it still counts no matter the order. Figure out what your goals are and then decide from there.

My optimal recommendations for training with a strength focus:

  1. Warm up with any cardio based modality.

  2. Dynamic stretching/mobility.

  3. Resistance train.

  4. Cardio.

  5. Cool down/static stretching.

Happy training
